Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Edet Otu has welcomed the triumph of the All Progressive Congress (APC) at weekend’s gubernatorial election in Edo State with open arms.
He extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Governor-elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Nsa Gill, the governor lauded the active participation of the people of Edo state in the election, emphasizing that their votes have unequivocally echoed, underscoring the robust foundation of democracy in our nation.
“The outcome of the election underscored the importance of citizens exercising their democratic prerogative and the consequential impact it wields on the political landscape of our nation”, Otu quipped.
Furthermore, Otu expressed his gratification in the alignment of both Cross River and Edo states under the aegis of the APC, stressing that, “it as a promising indication of unity and collaboration that will fortify the South-south region’s position in national politics.”
Otu characterized the party’s triumph “as a testament to diligence, dedication, and unwavering commitment to public service, accentuating the party’s fundamental values and principles.”
He maintained his conviction that Senator Okpebholo will uphold these ideals as he steers the state towards a brighter future.
He extended his felicitations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the APC’s victory in Edo state, noting that it further depicts the success of his renewed hope agenda for the nation.
