The Chairman of Odukpani Local Government Area, Chief Eld Etim Asido Ukpong, has sworn-in the Council’s Executive Committee members and other appointees.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremonies which took place at the Council Hall of Odukpani local government secretariat last week, the Chairman reminded the new officials that “dedication is the cornerstone of any successful endeavour.”
He charged them to exhibit the highest level of commitment to their assigned responsibilities while exhibiting willingness to always give the best as well as unwavering focus towards collective success.
Elder Asido noted that the swearing in was a significant event to mark the beginning of a new era in Odukpani local government area. The inauguration, he said, also provided a fresh start to allow the new Executive members bring in fresh ideas and prospects to addressing their communities’ challenges.
Outlining their vision and priorities, Alex Ekpenyong, the local government secretary, on behalf of the executive members and other appointees, commended the Chairman for the opportunity giving them to serve the Odukpani people.
In his good will message, Barr Ekpenyong Akiba, Special Adviser to the Governor on General Duties, congratulated the newly sworn in officials, and urged them to remain resolute to the ideal of fairness, equity and inclusiveness in governance while encouraging the appointees to key into Governor Bassey Otu’s People First mantra.
To grace the occasion were the Vice Chairman, Amb. Patricia Iya, the leader of Odukpani 8th Legislative Council, Efiom Ekene; Deputy Leader, Godwin Ndem; Majority Leader, Bassey Duke, as well as other members of the 8th Legislative Council.
The Chapter chairman of Odukpani, Edem Anam, members of the APC State Exco, former Odukpni Chairmen, Director General of SEMA, Ako Eyo and other stakeholders were also on ground to grace the occasion.
