Akwa Ibom State representatives for the Flag Football National Tournament Finals, Community Secondary Commercial School, Ibiaku Itam will arrive at Calabar on Tuesday as the defending Champions to battle with nine other state teams.
To ensure the school boys and girls travel with a winning mentality, the Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Secondary Education Board, Rt. Hon. Ekaette Ebong hosted the Flag Football contingent in her office last Friday in Uyo.
She blessed the team with prayers, cash donations, and the promise of possible scholarships when they come back with the trophy.
“Show them that you are not coming from a common state. Show them that you did not only train harder but you are from an uncommon state to do uncommon things.

“Don’t be surprised if you turn around and see me while you are playing in Calabar. I know you will do everything possible to bring back the trophy when you see me cheering you on.
Hon. Ebong applauded the players for their efforts to develop their sports skills to the current level and encouraged them to tolerate their coaches as such attitude will bring them victory.
The Vice President of Nigeria School Sports Federation, Mr. Emmanuel Ebong had earlier addressed the gathering while the Principal, Community Secondary Commercial School, Ibiaku Itam, Mrs. Mary Okon gave a vote of thanks.
Team Akwa Ibom Male is in Group 1 to play against Benue, Cross River, and Kwara State, while Group 2 has Lagos, Oyo, FCT, Ondo, and Rivers. In the female team, Akwa Ibom will play opponents from the same states as their male counterparts.
