The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of the Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation, (AKICORP), Mr. Imo-Abasi Jacob, has charged staff of the corporation on the need to adopt a target -driven approach to job delivery.as opposed to the hitherto traditional bureaucracy.
The AKICORP boss who gave the charge on Friday when the corporation held her January 2025 edition of ‘happy hour’/ birthday celebration, said this necessary in order to enhance productivity, efficiency and overall performance.
Jacob, who informed staff about the upcoming management retreat, emphasized that to fulfill its obligations, the corporation could no longer function without clear direction and leadership.
He further stressed that, “just as a ship would be lost without a rudder to guide it through treacherous waters, likewise every organization needs a clear-cut action plan to steer its operations, navigate challenges, and stay on course towards achieving its goals”.
Jacob declared that going forward, work will be guided by clear targets and objectives, mirroring the target-driven approach of the Umo Eno-led administration.
He hinted that the organization was infusing a structure of drawing experts to further strengthen its internal capacity as he exhorted every staff to don the cloak of professionalism, demonstrate expertise, dedication, capacity and passion in the daily discharge of their duties.
The AKICORP happy hour is held on the last Friday of every month and it features birthday celebrations and provides staff with the opportunity to socialise, de-stress and bond .
In this edition, the staff celebrated the birthdays of the Deputy Director (Human Resources and General Administration), Mr. Ekpedeme Sambo and Mr. Ekemini Udoh, a driver/mechanic.
