Cross River state government will soon take delivery of two new aircraft to boost its fleet in the aviation industry.
Top sources said, “the necessary financial transactions and documentations have been completed and in the next few days the two aeroplanes will land Nigeria enroute Calabar, the capital of Cross River state.
Already there is excitement in the air as people are in high hopes to see the arrival of the planes thus boosting the fleet of Cally Air and ensure its full regeneration and operation as an airline, jettisoning its current borrowed robe status, operating as an appendage of Aero Contractors.
The Special Adviser to the Governor, General Duties, Barr. Ekpenyong Akiba confirmed that “in the coming days, the issue of Cally Air, our aircraft will be on ground”.
Similarly, the Coordinator, Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project, High Chief Henry Onwe has lauded the State Governor, Senator Bassey Edet Otu for the purchase of the two new aircraft for the state owned Cally Air.
In a statement released to newsmen in Calabar on Friday, Onwe said the new aircraft will beef the fleet of Cally Air and fully position it for profitable business.
He said , “these two new aircraft will beef the fleet of Cally Air and adequately give it an edge over other competitors and make it more profitable
“Apart from enhancing its marketability, the acquisition of the two airplanes for Cally Air has positioned it to be registered as an independent airline with full rights to operate in Nigeria”.
Onwe said, Governor Otu has with the new investment in Cally Air “given the state a pride of place and made it to stand out in the comity of states. We can now hold our heads high as Cross Riverians because we have taken back our pride of place as a people with vision and drive for success”.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain said, Senator Otu has with his commitment to education, agriculture , health care and other sectors, proven that he is really “Sweet Prince” and the mantra, “People First” is really people oriented.
“He actually stands out among the governors we have had and I can assure you that his second tenure is already a sure bet because his work stands out and speaks volume for him”, he stated.
While welcoming the governor back from his three weeks leave, Onwe called on all Cross Riverians to stand with and support Governor Otu to give him more verve to keep working for the state as “nobody hates a good thing and we.have all seen that Prince Otu is doing great things for our state and good work deserves more work”.
