Akwa Ibom state government will tomorrow, August 20, take delivery of her new Airbus A220-300 aircraft at the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Research and Documentation, Dr Essien Ndueso in a brief chat with Pillar Today, said, “the airline had one Airbus and five Bombadier crj900 series. The new Airbus aircraft will now increase the fleet to seven”.
Pillar Today gathered that the state government had earlier placed an order for the purchase of 10 new Airbus A220-300 aircrafts to boost its current fleet.
Governor Eno during Sunday service at the All Nations Christian Ministry International, Eket Local government Area (LGA), and affirmed that the aircraft’s delivery is a result of his recent engagement with the Airbus team in Maastricht, Netherlands.
At the service also, Governor Eno advised citizens of the state not to panic as the 2024 Chief of Army Staff Conference of the Nigerian Army kicks off in Uyo on Tuesday and it will attract the unusual presence of military personnel around town during the period.
He described the selection of Akwa Ibom State for the 2024 Chief of Army Staff Conference as a gesture that is well appreciated.
On current rise in prices of things, he reaffirmed the readiness of his administration, through the Bulk Purchase Agency, to take delivery of truckloads of food items, which would be distributed to needy citizens, noting that the intervention is also aimed at tackling the wanton increase in prices by retailers.
He stressed that the distribution of government palliatives will be based strictly on the updated social register, with “no consideration for political affiliations”, cautioning political stakeholders at the grassroots against all tendencies of “winner takes all,” describing it as anti-Christian and not representative of the Akwa Ibom spirit.
Governor Eno decried the recent cloning of his regular phone line by hackers and promised to restore the line, reassuring everyone of his commitment to serve the people of Akwa Ibom and remain connected with the electorate.
In a sermon titled “Power of Courage,” taken from 2 Timothy 3:1-9, the Presiding Pastor of All Nation Christian Ministry, Ndaeyo Udomfuk, preached that amid the challenges on the way to success, there is a need for courage in the face of difficult circumstances and for making good decisions in times of confusion.
Pastor Udomfuk urged Christians to build courage by drawing strength from God and maintaining focus on the testimonies of past victories as well as previous experiences of God’s power.
The service featured the 50th birthday thanksgiving of Elder Imaikop Eno and his 21st marriage anniversary.
