The Coordinator, Office of the First Lady Akwa Ibom State, Lady Helen Eno Obareki earlier today, performed the inaugural tee – off for the first Ibom Ladies Golf Tournament.
Speaking to commence the tournament holding at the Ibom Golf and Country club, Uyo, Lady Obareki urged the female golfers to take advantage of the tournament to foster peace and unity amongst themselves.
In a release by her Media Unit, dated February 8, she also assured the ladies golfers of her support to the team.
“It’s exciting for me to be here today to be perform this honourable task of teeing off this tournament. I thank the organisers for inviting me. I believe this will foster unity among female golfers,” she remarked.
The Captain of Ibom Golf and Country Club, Mr. Isua Archibong and the Lady Captain Maryanne Udoka said the golf tournament, holding at the best golf course in West Africa, was geared towards promoting unity, collaborations and togetherness.
Highpoint of the event was the presentation of an award of recognition and a fully kitted staff bag by the organizers of the First Ibom Ladies Kitty, to the First Lady Designate.
