The Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (CRSMEDA) is pleased to announce the launch of its new youth empowerment initiative, the People First Youth Local Entrepreneurship and Acceleration Programme (YOU-LEAP).

This transformative programme is set to equip 5,000 young people across the state with in-demand digital, technological, and artisanal skills.

In a release from the Office of the Special Adviser on Public Affairs to the Governor, Comrade Nsa Gill, the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of CRSMEDA, Mr. Great Ogban, said the YOU-LEAP Programme is designed to empower youths in both urban and rural areas to become the architects of their own economic destinies.

“This is more than a program; it’s a strategic initiative to build a sustainable future for our state by investing in its most valuable asset—our youth,” Ogban stated during a test run of the program’s fashion and styling segment.

The initial phase will focus on five key areas: Fashion and Styling, Welding and Fabrication, Tiling, Information Communication Technology (ICT), and Video Editing.

The official launch will take place after the completion of the current test run, which is being carried out in collaboration with the local partner, Strings and Clad.
