Adewumi (1995 – 2025), who got married on June 22, 2024, passed on due to complications during childbirth at a hospital in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The visit included the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, Deputy Governors of Rivers, Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu, Deputy Governor of Bayelsa, Sen. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, and the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon Peter Odey, during the visit.
Speaking during the visit, Deputy Governor of Bayelsa, Ewhrudjakpo, said, “We are here to express our most grievous emotions over the loss of your daughter.
“The death has gone beyond Akwa Ibom but international, and we are finding it difficult to comprehend; we were thinking this was impossible, but death is the only visitor that comes without informing you.
“It is very unfortunate, but that is the reality of life; Job lost all he had in less than three years, and for those of us who are Christians, we do not die, but she left very early.
“On behalf of all of us, we urge you to take heart; God will take you to the next level as the Bible says that in every situation, give thanks.
“Your daughter is resting with the Lord.”
Responding, Akwa Ibom Deputy Governor thanked her colleagues for commiserating with her.
